I seem to remember reading that flights to Phonsavan (plain of jars) had stopped? Tried finding this on the forum again but cant seem to see it. Have i just imagined it? (i hope so) Am looking to fly from vientiane in feb next year.

We just flew from Vientiane to Phonsavan, returning to Vientiane and on to LP, using Lao airlines. We booked on their web site and flew on a Sunday, returning on a Monday giving us time to see Site 1 on Sunday afternoon and Sites 2, %26amp; 3 before our flight on Monday.
Yes, they fly the ATR (according to my husband, a retired pilot). The airport in Phonsavan is as basic as it gets.
No, the flight from Vientiane to LP was on an ATR but the flight to Phonsavan was on a MA6 which is a mystery plane.
I booked a flight for 2 friends for net Sunday.
