Renting motorcycle on a visa run

Are there any places in Vientiane that lent you rent a motorbike without asking for the original passport?

(Maybe a photocopy or your driver%26#39;s license, school ID, etc. instead?)

Try outside Phimphone, just opposite Kob Jai der.

Phimphone is in Samsenthai, right? I will try to ask.

Thank you!!!

Yes it is. I was there this morning and asked for you. He will take a copy of passport etc but will reqire a returnable deposit.

PVO on Fa Ngum next to Mekong Deck %10 a day for a scooter $20 a day for a 250 dirt bike usually wants your passport but might do something else she%26#39;s a nice lady, never had a problem there, callao

Most will take your visa card instead of passport if you are comfortable with that. I%26#39;ve hired a bike with just a driving license as deposit before - Douang Deuane hotel just off Fa Ngum, so you shouldn%26#39;t have any problems keeping your passport wherever you go.

General daily rates round town for the regular 110-125cc bikes are $5 for a chinese bike, $5-7 for a Kolao, or $8-10 for a new Honda or Yamaha. Most will give you 25% off for a monthly rate.

At Jules Classic Rental in front of Khop Chai Deu, they will accept to keep your visa car if you gave your passport to an ambassy.

They will not ask for a deposit, you just have to pay the rent in front and you can drop your bike in Luang Prabang in the North or Pakse in the South.

Have a look at their website at www//bike-rental-laos.com

Last week, two of our guests rented two heavy duty motorbikes from the aforementioned PVO in Vientiane for 5 days. Cost was $20 a day per bike although the owner initially asked for $25. The owner also asked them to leave their passports but was persuaded to accept their driving licences instead.
