Overland Tour from BKK to Luang Prabang

Hi, anyone out there,

I%26#39;ll be in Thailand, Cambodia etc in early Dec for 2 months. Is there any overland tour from BKK to Luang Prabang? I%26#39;ve seen lots of overland tours, but we have to catch the plane from BKK to Vientian first and this is very expensive.Bangkok Airway is a rip off, 5 times more expensive than Air asia, but AirAsia does not have any flight to VT or LPQ, that%26#39;s reason BKK Airway is expensive.

I am looking for aircon bus from BKK to Luang Prabang.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Andrew

How much time do you have? We%26#39;re flying via Bangkok Air (did the discovery pass as we%26#39;re doing a loop BKK to LP to Siem Reap back to BKK *but* if I had the time, I would get myself to Chiang Rai, cross over and take a boat for two days down the Mekong to LP -- the trip sounds amazing.

Bangkok Air is expensive! I have 4 weeks in Thailand. I have been there many times, but this time we want to go to LP...so far, we have not been able to find something cheap yet.

If you are looking for an aircon bus as you say, there are plenty.

You can get an aircon bus BKK to Udon Thani,600km, then another to Vientiane, 80km, stopping at the border en route. Then there are 2xdaily scheduled aircon buses Vientiane to LP, 9 hours (or loads of non-aircon ones)

If you%26#39;ve got three destinations that Bangkok Air flies, you can buy the discovery pass before you go -- use the web site to find the flights you want and call them -- I saved a huge amount on my tickets through them.
