My friend and I are going to be coming into laos via the Bo Y border into Attapeu in mid June. I have been trying to find out any information re. renting motor bikes and a guide to get us from attapeu to wat champasak (if necessary pakse) via the Boloven Plateau. This search however has proved fruitless.
We are then going to the 1000 islands from there for a couple of days. If we were not so pressed for time I really wouldn%26#39;t worry about it and we could figure it out once we reached attapeu...but we really only have a limited amount of time so I don%26#39;t want to waste a couple of days searching for someone to set this up.
If anyone knows anyone (guesthouses in the area where they speak english etc.) we could contact re. this I would really appreciate it.

Information re. bike trip across the Boloven Plateau
I just returned from a couple of weeks in that area. If you%26#39;re pressed for time, forget it. Bikes can be hired out, but often get flats and you will be stopping fairly often at small villages to get the tires repaired. Check out Travelfish.com for detailed info on transport/routes in that area. If you have the time, it is totally amazing! Waterfalls, the islands in the south, Wat Phu, shouldn%26#39;t be missed!
