Flights LP to Vientiane

I am putting together an itinerary and need to choose berween a lunchtime flight and an early evening flight. Would prefer to take the later one and have a few hours extra in LP but wonder if this leaves me open to the later flight being cancelled and having to stay an extra night.

Does anyone know anything about the likelyhood of Lao Airlines flights being cancelled?

Hi - the Vnte-LP-Vnte flight is rarely cancelled as they don%26#39;t need to fly by sight (I%26#39;ve only had cancellations in airports where the pilots need to see to land, and its been low-cloud conditions -eg,HoueiXai, XamNeua). So yes, you can pretty much rely on the 19.50 LP-Vnte flight I think.

We are in Laos for a short time as a side trip following on from two weeks cycling through Vietnam and Cambodia. We have only six days as a taster and will visit just LP and Vientiane. Like other posters I have struggled to decide how long to spend in each town.

We have settled on three nights in each and hope this wll give us time to get a flavour of the place.

We took an evening flight last week to Vientiane from Bangkok last with only 9 people on board. No problems at all. However the evening flights are less used and have heard occasional stories of evening flights being cancelled.
