Mekong river trip

Anyone taken the fast boat vs the slow boat on the Mekong to Luang Prabang? we are considering the fast boat in order to save time but this sounds a bit scary.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you an adrenaline junkie who likes dicing with death %26amp; think base jumping is a buzz? If so by all means take the fast boat.

The safety record of fast boats is TERRIBLE. I am not against taking calculated risks but I personally think these boats are just plain dangerous.

PLease be advised that it is VERY cold on the boats in the morning %26amp; evening so take warm clothes.
