$5 to $10? Well you won%26#39;t get much in that price range. Certainly you will get nothing with a bathroom. $20.00 will get you a nice room including your own bathroom.

There is no public bus from the airport. You can take a taxi or wander out to the street and hail a tuk tuk. A taxi is about $8.00 and you book it inside the airport.

if you don%26#39;t want to pay for a taxi you have to walk out to the street and hail a tuk tuk for about 30K kip or if you are really on a budget the blue and white lao buses run on that road head east to downtown Rough Guide should show some low priced guest houses, callao

There are plenty of cheapie ';ma %26#39;n pa'; guesthouses near the river. I doubt any of them require reservations, and when I was there in February and my regular place was booked up, in a pinch I headed down to the riverside and found a nice double room (the $6 singles were all full) with toilet and shower for $10. There are places as low as $4 per night, but that%26#39;d be with shared toilet/bathroom facilites.

dear all,

thank you.

Hi Maneki-neko,

Can you advise the name of the guesthouse which you mentioned here?

Thanks.

I don%26#39;t even remeber the name, as I was dead tired after spending 10 hours on a bloody bus from Savannakhet and just wanted to find a clean place to sleep right away. There are dozens of places like that, honestly. Just walk into a place and ask to see a room!
