Hi...we are planning to trip to Cambodia and Laos in a few weeks (we are actually in Hong Kong)and we would like to enter Laos by land from Cambodia..
-anybody have done it before?
-is the road to the border accessible at the end of the wet season? (we will be there around the 10th of October)
We would like to see Muang Khong island before heading north to Pakse so is the only way coming from the south..
Thanks!!!
Cheers
Cambodia-Laos by land
Hi,
The road should be fine at this time of year, however there is a boat crossing available as well.
Don Khone is well worth a visit (doplhins, waterfalls) which you can get a boat to from a village called Ban Nagasang (this island is further south than Moung Khong).
Cheers

Cambodia-Laos by land
There are a number of reports of the boat trip being quite expensive and once you get there you are a captive audience so do your homework. Also if you look at weather reports it is still raining a lot in Laos. Road cannot be guaranteed.
Good luck
Thank you very much! i will check the situation once there...
if it%26#39;s not possible to go by land i will fly straight to Pakse from Luang Prabang or Siem Rap but in this case i won%26#39;t came back to the islands in the south..it%26#39;s a pity..
:-)
