In Laos or before?

Hello everyone....

I was just wondering a few things about accommodation and transportation in Laos.

For transport is it easy enough to book buses/minivans (sometimes over night ones) from one city to the next once when you are there? For example if I arrive in Vientiane and want to head up to Vieng Vien 2 days later.

Is budget accommodation easy enough to find up arriving in most of the main places in Laos?
