Deluxe cruises on Mekong river to Luang Prabang

I am interested in prebooking tickets for a more comfortable 2 day cruise from huay xai than the standard backpackers slow boats.

I understand there are two options

-the NAGI OF MEKONG or

-the LUANGSAY boat with oasis travel.

There seems to be a considerable price difference in what seems to be similar cruises.

Can anyone advise me if they have travelled on these boats and share their positive/negative experiences?

We (husband, me, two daughters aged 11 and 8) did the Huang Say....but through a lot of good luck (and the fact that a Kiwi was working for the company in Laos), we had the whole boat to ourselves + the five guys working on it for two days. It was amazing. I think it%26#39;s meant to carry 34....not sure I would have enjoyed it nearly as much...food was fantastic and the overnight stop great. But DO get out and walk into the village....don%26#39;t stay in the hotel or you%26#39;ll just be in a sanitised environment.

Hey there Ella - we are taking the 2 day cruise as well later this year - what did you end up doing Nagi or Luangsay? Everything we%26#39;ve heard about those crazy boat rides is it%26#39;s well worth paying for Nagi - they sound like a class act, and way safer than the rest. Please let us know what you chose and how it went!
