Laos Help Please

I am off to Laos in 2 weeks for part of my honeymoon and just wondering what advice is required.

I know it will rain a fair bit and I am prepared for that.

Was wondering what the best monry to take US or Kip??

Will be in the capital and Luang Prabang

Any help well appriciated

From which country are you? Take the currency of your country if it is Euro, AUD or USD. You can change it anywhere. However you will need USD for your visa.

Again the cost depends on your nationality.

hi i went to laos last month, i took usd which i was glad for, as they are accepted everywhere and got a better deal paying for kyaking/elephant excursians etc in usd than kip equivalent. then when we were there i got out kip at cash machines which we used to pay for all the smaller things, as when you are paying at restaurants and general non tourist things you will want kip (the cash machines limit you to withdrawing around £100equivilant or so a day we found which is not enough if you are booking flights etc so we were really glad to hav usd)! so id say take some dollars then get kip out at cash machines when you are there, as you dont want to be carrying lots of cash around , just try and get rid of all ur kip when you are ther,as it doesnt matter too much is you are left with usd when you come bak to england as its a strong currency.

Also how rainy is it currently. I have a waterproof for the UK but feel this will be too much in 89 degree heat so think need a lightweight option

Don%26#39;t worry much about rain ! It is sunshine every day and quiet hot with some rains in the night time.

However, you can find very cheap and light rain coat anywhere in the market here, in case you need !
