Northern Laos in June/July?

Hello everyone,

We are thinking of travelling to northern Laos (Luang Prabang, Plain of Jars and then up to Luang Nam Tha in the very north for hiking).

How bad is the rainy season there? Deluge all day or a rain storm for an hour or so and then nothing for a few days?

Are mosquitos an issue during this time?

Hi - you didnt say what month you%26#39;re going but the rain can do all the things you mentioned. I spent a lot of the rainy season last year in the northern provinces and sometimes it goes on for 3 days, other times its just showers. On the positive side though there are far less tourists in Namtha %26amp; LP this time of year.

Mosquitos are always there,rain or shine, just need to cover up and use deet like you would in N.queensland.
