Prices in Luang Prabang

Hi,

Was wondering how prices in Luang Prabang at restaurants and bars compare with, say, Hanoi.

I found Hanoi to be very inexpensive for things like food and drinks.

Is Luang Prabang comparable?

I tend not to eat and drink at real expensive places. Sort of middle of the road options.

So any info on prices at resturants and bars would be most appreciated.

Prices in Luang Prabang

You can pay $1 for fried rice at a local place, $5 for a meal on the main backpacker road, or up to $30 at one of the fancier restaurants. Drinks also vary, from under a dollar for a 660ml beer up to $30 ir more for a bottle of wine by the river . So yes - fairly comparable to Hanoi for mid range places, maybe a bit cheaper.
