vila lao woodenhouse in luang prabang?

Has anyone stayed at Villa Lao Woodenhouse in Luang Prabang? http://www.laowoodenhouse.com/index.htm

We are thinking of staying here for 4 nights in August but have not found any reviews by those that have actually stayed here. Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!

I stayed at the Lao Wooden House for a month in Feb/March while doing volunteer work (teaching English). It is a very comfortable guest house, spotlessly clean and well looked after by the very %26#39;hands on%26#39; owner. They have comfortable beds, cable TV, refrigerator and safe. The location is great but the only negative is the sound of roosters crowing very early (not unusual in LP).It is a cut above the average guest house and consequently more expensive but you get what you pay for in Laos just as everywhere else. The upstairs rooms are best as they have a nice veranda.

Lao Wooden House is lovely and in a top location, near everthing but off the main drag. It is well furnished and well run, and the rooms upstairs on the verandah are lovely. However the walls are a little thin, so if that is an issue for you, take note. Villa Chitdara (Chitlada?) next door is similarly lovely, and does not have the same problems, and serves a great breakfast. It is marginally more expensive.

my bf and i stayed at lao wooden house for 3 nights during out backpacking trip in aug last year. we bumped into one of the workers cruising around LP promoting the guesthouse. his portfolio looked great so we decided to follow him. after taking a peek into their rooms, it was a done deal for us. at that time the guesthouse was brand spanking new. the room was super clean, with A/C, cable tv, hot shower and comfy bed. cant really remember the price but i think it was a little below 30usd including breakfast. now the rates seem to have increased. the only minor complain i have was the room was a bit too dark, because it was furnished with wood flooring and walls that were painted dark brown to black. and the shower pressure was a little low. breakfast was nothing to shout about but i wasnt expecting a luxury service anyways since its just a guesthouse. the workers were extremely nice and friendly. location was great. close to a handicraft night market. u should definitely stay there.
