4 days in Luang Prabang

Get a tuk tuk out to Phousi Market. It%26#39;s fascinating.

Hi ,

Thanks for that, any other ideas?

Cheers,

Stewie.

Hi Stewie, Pak Ou budda caves is a nice boat ride, the waterfalls are very nice and a climb up Mt Phousi to see the Buddha’s foot print and a 360 degrees view of town, it%26#39;s in the middle of town, can%26#39;t miss it.

Walks along the river, bars, and restaurants chilling out watching the fishermen.

I could be back there now.

Only problems are banking, atm’s only take Cirrus I think and the bank at the other end of town is not very reliable so cash up and try and pay your hotel bill while the electricity is on the night before check out.

Oh and the curfew is at 23.00, but that’s okay you’ll want to be up early to see the monks collect alms.

Enjoy

I suggest starting at the Mount Phousi before or after the Royal Palace. It gives you a great view of the town plus it is interesting on the walk up %26amp; down.

Check out the stay another day website %26amp; pick up a book when arrive.

Like shwaygwailo suggested just stroll around. Lots of lovely spots to sit %26amp; chill by the rivers, In 7 days I do not think I did everything I had planned. Umm that layback Laosmode got me on day one !!!!

Alicie pretty much has it covered in her links.

If you have money in Lao you get what you want. Asked for nicely of course.

I have a blog in the Laos section over at AWD.

Do some reading and enjoy.

We%26#39;ve just stayed 4 days at LP and that was great: Pak Ou caves, sunset river trip, temple browsing, great cafes/restaurants, massage.. and just soaking up the atmosphere %26amp; chilling out drinking Lao beer %26amp; watching the Mekhong river fishermen at one of the many bars by the river. New restaurant Le Calao on the river has great evening BBQ set meals at $7 per night - run by French couple, great value for money and vies over Mekhong. If you have time strongly recommend doing the drive from LP to Vientiane - glorious mountain scenery, village life. Do the trip over 2 days if you can (its an 8+ hour drive in total) and stop off for a night at Vang Vieng - watching the tubers having a ball tubing on the Nam Song river at Vang Vieng was one of our happiest experiences in Laos!
