So my wife and I plan to go to Laos in early January and also Cambodia. So what kind of weather can we expect in January. Will we be able to go down the Makong at this time???? What do you suggest we do? Where do we start? How long should we spend. We%26#39;ve been traveling for 7 years and all the travelers we talk to loved Laos. We want this to be a great journey. The weather will be pleasant and cool. The Mekong will be low. As to how long to spend and what to do - well that really is up to you. How thoroughly do you want to see Laos? You can easily do 3-4 weeks here.
