We only have just a bit under two days in Luang Prabang

And would like advice

. what should we do and see in this short time (in august)

. should we go for longer (in feb)

My suggestions:

Day 1:

-Royal Palace

-Wat Mai (next to Royal Palace)

-Kuang Si Waterfall (half day)

Day 2:

-Pak Ou Cave (half day)

-Wat Xieng Thong

-Phousy Mount

Other activities: walking around, seeing traditional dance at the Royal Palace, shopping at night market, visiting My Library/Big Brother Mouse to make donation or to buy books for Laos children.
