Getting US dollars in Laos

How can I get US dollars while in Laos?

Or will I have to bring a lot of dollars with me?

I hate to carry a lot of cash, so I would like to find out how to get dollars in Laos, either through an ATM or at a bank.

Why exchange as much as $300? That%26#39;d last me 4 weeks in Laos!!! Exchange as you go. There are exchange couters everywhere.
