Route 13

Hi, whats the story with travelling along Route 13 at the moment? I have heard a lot of bad stories - we will be 2 s travelling alone so i would rather be safe! we want to travel to Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Vientiane - are their alternatives to travelling this route? thanks

Oh not again! Where on earth does this nonsense come from? (What ';bad stories'; did you hear? No doubt these were from about 5+ years ago.) It seems to surface every 6 months or so. The route is perfectly safe and the only real problem is the very windy area into LP where you might suffer motion sickness.
