Planned to stay in Laos for about 7-8 days. Arriving at Vientiane. If you don%26#39;t mind, do you think you could make any suggestion on places to visit. Many thanks in advance.

With such limited time I would spend 3 days in Vientiane and 4 in Luang Prabang. You can fly to LP from Vientiane and Lao airlines have packages including accomodation. That should see you through your time.

Some may suggest Vang Vieng - yes the karst landscapes are beautiful, but there are loads of backpackers behaving badly as well, and this means you would have to go one direction to LP by road. It is a windy journey and the views are no better than you get from the plane anyway.

Thanks for your suggestion. I saw Vang vieng photos and thought it%26#39;s very beautiful. What do you think of this itin :- Day 1 - Vientiane, Day 2 - fly to Xieng Khuong, spend a day or two there, then bus to Luang Prabang, then fly back to Vientiane. Is vang vieng worth visiting ?
