Accommodation

Hi

Does anyone know if The Sala Prabang has a pool? If not, any other suggestions for a hotel in Luang Prabang with a pool, preferably central? Also has anyone used ';agoda'; to book?

Thanks

Lynne

Accommodation

Hi Lynne,

Sala Prabang has no pool according to their website.

The Grand Luang Prabang Hotel looks really nice and has a pool.

They have a special deal going the Retreat Package

I checked website and for a 5 night stay in a mekong deluxe Room it was $506 Aussie with breakfast and airport transfers.

Cheers,

Stewie.

Accommodation

Thanks Stewie I had looked at that hotel as per your previous advice and it looks lovely. I%26#39;m just worried it is too far out of town

Lynne

Hi Lynne,

They have free shuttle bus, or grab a taxi or tuk tuk.

I think it%26#39;s only 5 to 10 minutes away.\

Cheers,

Stewie.

Lynne, A tut tut to %26amp; from the airport is $5 .Or pay extra dollar to have waiting when you arrive.

Sorry, I did not notice any central GH with pools. Is one necessary?

As there are some lovely low, mid %26amp; high cost range GH’s. Whether they include breaky or not, doesn’t matter ( all supply Tea / coffee) as you will enjoy the cafes in streets or along the river for western or asian. One of the nice things about this town.

But I suppose depends what sort of time you want. if you want to enjoy the charm of the town staying central imo is best.

Hi Lynn,

Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel has a real nice pool and it is so much fun to swim in a hot humid day. LPB is such a beautiful place to visit. Lovely people, food and scenery. Enjoy your stay!

Caroline

Caroline, is the Maison S close to the center of town?

Lynne, Agoda is a recommended site on Fodor%26#39;s travel forum. I plan to use it on a trip in October. Wotif.com (based in Australia, I think) is also recommended for last minute deals.

Thanks everyone,

I am now looking at Le Calao so if anyone has stayed there I would be interested to hear what you think.

Also re agoda I was looking at booking via them but had some negative feedback from another site, if they are recommended by Fodor%26#39;s maybe that was a one off bad experience.

Lynne

Hi Lynne,

I tried e-mailing Le Calao twice but have still received no replies .

Cheers,

Stewie.

Caroline,

Thanks, Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel looks great but there are 4 of us and it%26#39;s a little out of our price range.

Stewie,

I%26#39;ve had one response (albeit slow) from Le Calao, and am waiting to hear back again but no response from The Grand

Thanks everyone for your help

Lynne

Hi Lynne,

Send the Grand another e-mail as it took me a couple of times.

sales@grandluangprabang.com

Cheers,

Stewie.
