Vang Vieng?

Hey i recently heard about Vang Vieng and that it is well worth a visit? where is it? near LuanPrabang and/or Ventiene? how get thre? places (budget) to stay etc? would love to hear from you! K

Vang Vieng?

Was there on a tour. Very backpackerish. Lots of caves, outdoorsy stuff. One of the big attractions is river tubing, which is actually more of a floating party/pub crawl. I had a great time doing it, but I realize it%26#39;s not for everybody.

Yes, the previous post is correct.

It is beautiful landscape and mainly visited by backpackers.

Hundred of GH at budget price... don%26#39;t worry for that.

It is located north of Vientiane 3 hours driving on the way to Luang Prabang. If you plan to go to Luang Prabang by road (bus or min-bus), you can stop in Vang Vieng for 2 days... (or more if you like).

The place is very nice with beautiful scenery and fun activities, despite very %26#39;touristic%26#39;.

However, I would also like to suggest that you be careful with your belongings at Vang Vieng. When i was there in May, I have lost my handphone and some cash which i left in my backpack at the guesthouse on the day which I went tubing (i was afraid my things will get wet, so i didnt bring all my valuables along). I think things like that is not very common in Laos but do be careful.
